What’s your favorite family activity? Do you or your kids play sports, do you love hiking in the mountains, eating out, non-Covid travel? There are so many options in the Knoxville area and many are outdoors.
My family has always loved sports. I grew up playing basketball in middle and high school and for a year in college. My kids played various sports growing up but moved on to other things before high school.
Now my oldest grandson is the family athlete. “Ball” was one his first words. He started hitting a ball off a tee at 15 months old. He was throwing a small football (with accuracy!!!) at about 18 months. He got a little basketball goal before he was two. He has tried them all the sports. He started baseball at 3 years old, then soccer, then basketball and flag football. He loves to swim and is like a fish in water. He loves them all. If you ask him what his favorite sport is, it’s usually whatever sport he is playing at the time.
But lately, he is leaning towards baseball just a little more. He chose Fall baseball over football last year. He wanted to pitch so his mom and dad got him a pitching coach. And he’s good! He made All-Stars this season.
So our main year round family fun activity is going to a ball field or gym to watch him play a sport. What is your family fun activity? Share photos in the comments.
